One of UNESCO’s missions in the area of education includes leading the global debate on the future of education and learning. Last January the UNESCO International Commission in Paris presented its Futures of Education initiative. This aims to generate an agenda for global debate and action on the future of education, learning and knowledge in a world of increasing complexity, uncertainty and precariousness. It is based on a broad and open participatory process that involves a variety of stakeholders at the global, regional and local levels.
